Level Design Internship

Super Mario Bros

Do you love figuring out what makes a great game tick? Do you pour over puzzles, make amazing maps, or balance raiding versus building? Have you got lots of ideas to improve your favorite games? Then, this is the internship you are looking for.

We’re looking for a level design intern to join our team in Galway. You will work with our lead game designer on level design, game balance, progression, and economy on a variety of titles. This internship will last approximately 3 months and is unpaid, but we will cover your expenses.

Sound interesting? Then drop us an email: info@tribalcity.com and tell us all about yourself. Please include a resume and a portfolio of any related projects you’ve done in the past.

So what about us? What are we like to work with?

We are a small Independent game developer focused on the iPhone and Android markets. Being small means no departments, no barriers. You will get your hands dirty right away, you will learn tons, and you will be more productive than you could ever imagine. But don’t worry, we’re a close-knit team and you will have support all the way. We pride ourselves on Tribal City being a fantastic place to work.

Don’t take our word for it though, here are some quotes from our interns from last summer:-
“Best summer ever!” – Artist intern
“Best job I’ll ever have!” – Programmer intern
“Thought I would be doing grunt work, instead I got to do design right through to assets” – Artist intern
“I was given a lot of responsibility, that was a big positive” – Programmer intern
“Can’t believe this is a proper job!” – Artist intern

Hi I’ve just finished a game devolpment course in University of Limerick last year and I’m not quite clear on what kind of intern you are looking for? Are you looking for a programming intern or an art intern?

Thanks
Cormac

Hello there,

My name is Patrick Wood. I am enjoying my second year Studying Games Design at Leeds Metropolitan University currently remaking the classic Streets of Rage which was on the Sega Mega drive.Working over the summer sounds great to me, especially since level design if my favorite aspect of development. Please take the time to look at my portfolio which is always being updated with new work.

Many thanks
